I took my grandson to Evergreen today and he caught a 7 inch gill on the first cast with a white rooster tail, then caught a couple of small bass. I caught one drink and lost one, then we moved to our favorite cove and he started using night crawlers on one rod and caught some more gills. He picked up his worm rod once and felt a nice one on, it was a 2 and a 1/2 lb bass which had a bluegill in it with the hook and worm still in the gill.
It is his pb bass.
Bass looked stuffed and it was

Good job Mark. Never seen a turtle in a fish before.
Good job on the fishing. Now that you have the catching down, watching a few YouTube videos on filet techniques will give you a lot more fish filet per fish. Enjoy your catch and the meal that follows to the max. Rule one often not mentioned is use a very sharp knife. Most commercial cleaners on the wet coast use a diamond steel for sharpening.
Thanks for posting the photos.

Thanks for all the replies, I have never seen a turtle in a fish. I had no idea or even thought about that, I guess they eat anything that moves, good thing they dont get real big it wouldn't be safe to swim and a kayak would be topwater and a jetski a buzzbait π€£
What lake was that bass caught at

It's a city park lake in Baytown, sorry for the late answer I have been at lake Livingston with my brother and grandsons for the weekend and not on the stage. I'm gonna post a story on that soon.
