June of this year will be enjoying a weeklong trip to the June Lake Loop. Looking for tips on Rush creek stream fishing spots and your favorite flies, baits and lures along Rush Creek in early June. Will be bringing ultralight spinning gear as well as a fly rod.

Welcome to the Forum, Steve. I would bring pick up some nightcrawlers for the ultralight, and stop at a fly shop and ask about the current hot fly. Good luck.

Love to fish that area. I have always had the best luck with live crickets. Check the Reg's first as they seem to change often. Live crickets are hard to find in that area but if your going thru Bishop stop and P/U a tube or two and keep them cool with a small piece of lettuce in the cage and they will stay alive for a week or so. Never saw a trout that could resist a live cricket.

Great advice! Will give them a try for sure. Was also thinking I might bring some meal worms and redworms. Thanks Dandad.

Use nightcrawlers on a wormhook... thread them on with a worm threader. Can use them on a fly rod or spinner under a small bobber, absolutely will destroy trout.

You can also use a mice tail on your fly or #10 single hook for you spin equipment. On the fly use only about an inch of tail only, pink or orange work well.
On your spinner try white head and pink tail. Or just the tail about 2" long.

June Lake Loop is one of my favorite places to fish. I usually fish the lakes but on one trip my cousin caught a 8 ponder in Rush Creek using a floating cheese bait. Good luck.

Wow guys. Thanks for all the tips. I've got some shopping to do. Anybody try trout beads there?
