Lake Texana specific. No boat, no joke. Fishing from the bank, is there any hope? Where, how deep, live bait or lures? Can anybody heeelp meeee?

Well, I personally don't know anytring about Lake Texana. If I were there and trying to catch crappie, I would look for a place close to deep water and had a submerged tree or other structure. This would allow small minnows to have some sanctuary, and if they are there, then crappie will be in the area looking to eat those minnows. That would be your opportunity to catch the crappie.
