Avid Pennsylvania fisherman. Streams and lakes. Very little experience in Florida except for some pier fishing. Need some tips on locations and techniques for both fresh and salt. Basics would be a good start. Here until april

Welcome to the Forum, Tim. Nightcrawlers for the fresh and live shrimp for the salt. That's as basic as you can get. Good luck.

Tim, My BIL lives right above you in West Palm Beach and works down your way. I have fished with him down there in the intracoastal Water way for Sheepshead. Get you some clams if you can't find any fiddler crabs. Good luck.

Sounds like your not far from the Atlantic, shrimp and squid. I'm from Carnegie Pa outside of Pgh.
No doubt nightcrawlers go to bait. I use minnows and shiners and throw rapalas silver quite a bit
Back to minnows and shiners, I've caught just about everything on shiners. Expensive yes, 2021 wherevi get bait they were $11.00 a dozen, but their dozen is more like 2 dozen.
Even if they die throw em out twitch them even on top
I know many in here don't use bait but try all bait, lures you'll do fine
I do most of my fishing in NW Pa Allegheny river. Tionesta area has it all. Even Tionesta Dam to try, can rent boats also, go to no wake area.
They die pretty easy keep fresh water
