Hey everyone! I’m Jon, 52y, I reside in Luxemburg, WI. I have a wife and daughter age 11. My daughter and I are BIG ice fishing enthusiasts. Her and I have ice fished together for years and she was hooked for life when she pulled her first fish through the ice 3+ years ago. It was a 42” northern caught on Shawano Lake in Shawano County, WI. She is interested in joining the ice fishing club at her school but has to wait a couple years as her school team is only available for high school students. In the meantime I’m preparing her for it.

I have been fishing for most of my life and have fished everywhere from the ocean to the local pond. My greatest love though is ICE FISHING!! I’m here for information and help with ice fishing and love to share tips, techniques, locations and more. I greatly appreciate everyone who is willing to share information I.e. bite, locations, conditions, hot spots, etc.

I look forward to learning more from the pros and amateurs alike and will share with all.

Thanks for having me here!!

Welcome Jon,
Considering your experience, you may be the “resident expert”. There are a few who fish hard water, but most of the Stagers think we may be a little “touched in the head”😉
I have yet to get out this year due to a relatively new hip and recent knee surgery. One of my buddies went out last week for crappies on Lake WI, but there wasn’t much going on.
I hope to get out there soon.
A 42” pike through a hole is an awesome accomplishment, congrats to your Daughter. I hope she gets to join that HS team soon and kicks some butt. Maybe one of them can bring her along as a “Little Sister” and she can pass along some tips.
From what little I have heard this year, the fish are still in the green weeds if you can find them, suspended just outside the edges or just above them as that is where the available food and dissolved oxygen is.
Good luck!

JP4, now that user name brings back some fine memories. JP4 was jet fuel back in the day. I was a prop tech but shared a hanger with the Jet boys. Yep some good memories there.

Welcome to the stage JP4, nice write up. You will do well on here.

Thank You for your service Jp4.

Periodically i post a list of all our military former and current members here on the stage. If you would like to have your user name added to a list i just need your branch of service and years that you served.

In San Diego we called the coast guard guys harbor ducks. 1st time hearing canoe club!! I Fish SD bay a lot and have had them come up alongside my boat checking for safety equipment. Nicer than the seals on their gunboats kicking up big wakes close to us in my 15’ alum boat and laughing when we get rocked around. Most of them are consideret though.
