Have fun! Our Boat Show starts this weekend, but not sure I want to go look at dream machines with a bunch of strangers in close proximity…

We've got a sportsmans' expo coming up here in Sacramento. I want to go bad, but I think I'll pass because of the China virus thing.

Yes, the glitter and shine of all the equipment, boats, and gear, as well as the outfitters for foreign trips will be there with videos of landing super sized fish is always a winner. Just Sayin...

Our boat show starts on the 28th. I went in 2000 and bought my 17ft Seafox CC. Still have that boat. Still go every year to renew my Boat US tow insurance. At the boat show you can save about $50 on your membership. And a SS ticket is only $8 Need I say more. Yes I enjoy seeing all the new boats.

I love it all. Love wearing one of my Xmas gifts. The latest is shirt that says.

Eat sleep
BOAT
Repeat.

Another is from a cruise.
Picture of a boat with let’s get ship faced on it. Many ladies said they loved that one.

If I’m going to go I would want to go with someone. Ohmyimcryin variant is crazy again. I just didn’t go this time.

We have a fly fishing show coming up in 2 weeks. Doubt that I'll be there, same reasons.

Best shows I've been to were at the Javits Center in Manhattan. January show, with everything from dingys to 60-70 footers from Bertram, Viking, Hatteras. The big ones traveled up the east coast on their own bottoms, were hauled from the Hudson River to the center on travel lifts. Nothing like walking around in a true Powerball boat, even down in the 7ft high engine rooms. V-12 Manns, Caterpillars, Detroits....
The same companies are now up in the 90ft range now, but I don't think they come up this way any more. Probably have to go to the Miami show to see the big dogs now.
I just checked this years lineup, NO Big Dogs anymore.

I think technology is so advanced that the people that will ever buy the big dogs can walk through them on a computer. If they are interested then can go see them wherever they are produced. There is many sizes here at PDX. Seattle has big one too. The guy we were talking to for quite awhile aboard a big nice boat with all sorts of things including solar. All sorts of electronics. The guy finally said this is our last big show anywhere near here and we do NOT want to haul it out unless it’s to water near here.

I've been going to the Tulsa Boat & Outdoor Expo for years but will probably let the covid scare me off this year. It's a good place to buy a boat or travel trailer as it's held on county property & buyers only pay the minimum state sales tax. Way too many people.

We used to have a couple of Flyfishing shows. One was in Portland about a 1 1/2 hours south of me and one north of me above Seattle about 2hours away
Not sure if we will have them this year
I like the Flyfishing shows more than the other ones
