Mt. Washington (AGAIN !)

Well, they're at it again ! Mt. Washington is currently just
getting over another fierce winter
storm, with sustained winds of
100+ mph and gusts up to
121 mph - the temps are hovering around -10° F, with wind chill down
to -60° F, and expecting snowfall
between 14" to 20" !

(I am SO glad I moved to Arizona !)

Man, you can say that again! I cannot survive and do well where there isn't sunshine almost every day!

I was sent to N.Y. and was in an inner office with no window! it was very depressing, like being in jail! I finally got to move to a window office, but there were still days with snow and cloudy sky. Like being in jail!

I was finally promoted to New Orleans and that was better because I could be outdoors more. Then late back to Texas, and I am not leaving. Just Sayin...RJ

Raised a Texan, you were just used to elbow room, RJ! That, and VERY little snow!

Alot of the "fierceness" of the weather at Mt. Washington, has to do with the fact, that: the weather-station up there, is very nearly ¡¡6,288 FEET above sea-level!! I spent 4× winters, roughly 110 miles to the southwest by south of Mt. Washington; and we generally had (compared to Cleveland) relatively "mild winters" (of course, where I was at, was only = 292 feet above sea-level, and only about an hour's drive, from the "moderating effect" of the Atlantic Ocean.) We experienced ALOT OF freezing rain, where I'd lived at, in Groton, MA.

If anyone is interested you can spend a night at the observatory with transportation in the snowcat. For about 1000.00 per person.not taking reservations at this time

I know, I know! I suppose it is my genes. I can get a chill in 70 degree room with A/C if it is blowing on my bald head. Just Sayin...RJS

Me 3, RJ. At least the snow in MT. reflected light. Here in the Valley the greys and browns just seem to suck it up. I sit as close to the window as I can get and still get depresed.

Marion: put your coat on and walk around the block, maybe wave at a neighbor or a stranger. I find it helps deal with the gray pnw winters.

Ok so go out the yard and wander around looking for something you may have lost. Or check out your boat or one of your rod and reel setups, try a few casts in the back yard.
