Welcome Susan. There are quit a few on this site from the west coast. Might be tomorrow before they see your post. They catch a lot of trout and red fish over there. Check out the red tide report to see what you can keep. Gordon

Mornin', Sue. Welcome to the Forum. I checked the red tide report last week and it was good and it has been since late last Spring.
When surf fishing, which I don't do much of, I always use live shrimp for reds and trout, and I will use fish bites for whitings. Good luck.
Welcome to the stage Sue. I live in Englewood too. Started Saltwater fishing about 3years ago. I haven't done any beach fishing, yet. I have been fishing the Venice jetty, Sharky's pier and Aingers pier. Sheepshead, Snoook, Mangrove Snapper, Jack crevalle and lots of Gafftopsail catfish have all been biting live shrimp. Usually wear a Raiders hat say hi if you see me.

Susan..... Welcome to the Stage. Glad you decided to join us. Local ( to you ) users should be along with info for you soon.
Thanks to all for your warm welcomes and replies. I think this site is going to be more than I was hoping for. Sure hope I do bump into some of you while I am out there trying to catch something. I will not take offense to your uncontrollable laughter. My attitude is, you don't know if you can do something unless you at least try. So try I will! A good day to all.
