Fished there about half a mile away from the park using pompano rigs, but only caught whiting using sand fleas. Spanish Mackerel were being caught by the bridge. There was a decent bait shop across the island from the bridge. We were there in March for Spring Break, so check with the bait shop on what is biting. Good luck.
