Retire! Are you getting any younger? The best thing I did was retire early.
My BIL that I was in the service with in the early '70s was VP of his company and he was probly the healthiest of us all. Rode his bicycle up to 20 miles a week. He was 72 back in 2018 and he suddenly died from a virus that got around his heart. They couldn't do anything for him when he went in to get a checkup cause he wasn't feelin well for a few weeks. They care flighted him to the hospital in Dallas and he lost consciousness and never came too.
My point is he never retired and he could have years earlier but chose not to.
There's more to life than work. However, I understand that sometimes you HAVE to keep workin. Thankfully I didn't have to.
Retire! Are you getting any younger? The best thin... (show quote)

I hear you brother. I'm paying now for a misspent youth. I have a good friend that worked 41 years for I think the same company. He took one sick day off in all those years. He retired a few years ago and has had nothing but health problems since he retired. I may just have to remember all the fun I had when I was young and work till I die.

Thanks Saw. I'm not miserable. I just would love to be able to go fishing any time I want. I get a pretty good amount of paid time off, so I'm able to enjoy it. I hope you have a great weekend my friend. BTW, I did find someone to go sit on the ice with me tomorrow.

I recommend heading out to Camanche Lake Reservoir South Shore. This is the local hot spot to fish for Trout and other species. You will have the opportunity to meet many local fishing buddies their who are familiar with the area and the best fishing methods to catch fish, cook your catch and hang out to share stories with fellow fishing buddies. Camping is available if you plan to stay. You are also close to three other great lakes and two rivers to fish in. Good luck to you.
