Nice fish I'm from Smyrna I hang around Percy Priest and Stones river (my favorite place to fish) Iv got to go over to Tim Fied and give it try. You proved there's fish there lol.

Redneck, I have fished Percy several times but never really done a lot of good for Smallmouth caught some big largemouth around Lula Island area. Tim's has some nice Smallmouth, I had one at 22" SM last summer and on the shallow end of the lake there's really good largemouth fishing with scattered SM. Woods Reservoir just north of Dechard TN for a small Lake has an incredible population of Smallmouth and Largemouth SM up to 6 pounds regular and LM up to 8 aren't uncommon.

Hi my name is Phil and my daughter has a home on Tims Ford and I am toying with the idea of coming down in March. I LIVE IN Iowa and have not fished that lake much. Will there be any Crappie biting that time of year also what are the possibilities of floating some of the streams, I love your area by the way!

Everything in the lake will be bitting in March and April, that's when the shad spawning the bite can be great.
There's several streams or the Elk River that flows out of Tim's Ford dam is just a big stream, great trout bass and panfishing for miles below the dam. I've floated it many times in a canoe and it's a great float.

If you want shoot me a PM and maybe we can go out while you're here.

I was waiting for Ivey to respond so I could chime in. If you have a chance to fish with Ivey I would do whatever necessary to make it happen. He is a master angler all by all accounts a really cool dude! I’d consider it an honor to wet a line with him.

Thanks J but I get skunked just like everyone else. I do get to spend a little more time on the water living so close as I do but I get lucky a lot.

I know you have but not nearly as often as I do. πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ»

You know your stuff and catching would just be a bonus if we went fishing. I’d be sucking up that knowledge as much as possible. Any smart angler would.

Unfortunately not. High was 19 today. Not supposed to get higher than the 20’s for next couple weeks! Only good thing about it is I’m going to do a little hard water fishing soon. Ice builds about an inch a day in this weather. Haven’t done it in 15 years but I’ve still got the gear and my buddies got a 8 man shantee. Hopefully stay warm and pull some slabs through a hole.🀞🏻
