They sent him home with a Silver Star for his Mom. She would have traded it for him back OK in a Heart Beat.
Still miss him.

Tough war to fight in. I noticed he was in the Navy. Was he running up the rivers? Sad when a soldier is killed in action. Must be horrible when that service car shows up in your driveway and they tell you that your child isn’t coming home.

Yes, I lost a close friend that i had known from the first grade, and a room mate in college. He died on Christmas day after 18 years of being bed fast for being striken with some weird virus he got from animals he treated. He was a doctor of Vet Medicine. Just Sayin...RJS

When I was in basic training, they told us to look around at everyone in our company, one of us would not make it through our 4 year enlistment.
I’m sorry to say, our company commander was right.

If you ever make it to the Viet Nam wall in D.C., there is a book there that list all of our lost brothers. They are listed by states. Found some of my high school friends in that book. Sad day.

It has been awhile since I was there, so may have changed. There is a stand or kiosk right as you approach the wall,
tells the names and where exactly the name is on the wall. Really helped in finding friends and family.

Thanks OBG, one of those things that is on my bucket list. Not the best part of town to just park and get around easily, definitely a week day outing.

I was actually staying in Baltimore and took the train down and caught a subway to D.C. Popped up right at the Washington memorial which was right about in the middle of everything. Lincoln Memorial and The Wall to the left and White house to the right. Museum and Pentagon in the middle. No parking problem. Well worth it Plumb, go for it now and check it off your bucket list.
