I'd love to have the livescope for ice fishing. I can't convince my wife I need to spend $2700 though.

Are the type less than 500 not good?

The Garmin Livescope was like nothing else. Now Lowrance and Humminbird make unit like them. It's the forward facing sonar that all the bass pros use now. It's pretty cool, but way too expensive for me. My wife got me an underwater camera for Christmas that's pretty cool to watch the fish interact with your lure. I was actually able to watch the fish I caught yesterday swim up and take my jig.

👍🏻

I heard of the livescope thing but I guess it’s obviously different than the cameras

Yep, with my camera, I have to basically use a fish finder to set the depth, with the livescope, you can see everything out a hundred feet or so depending on the setting. It's really cool, but like I said it's way out of my league.

I see. I am thinking of getting one of what you probably have. 150 has its one screen a box etc. it would be cool when FF has a ping and then you see a fish instead of wondering if it was a fish or what type. Turbidity must be a major factor

Yeah, we've been fishing in pretty clear water. Yesterday, the hole the camera was in was between my son and I, facing towards my line. I could see my jig really clearly, but was also seeing my daughter in law's jig which was probably about 10 feet from the camera. There weren't a lot of fish swimming around our lines yesterday, but it's super cool to see them swimming around and watch them interact with your hook.

Do they give the hook the fin when they swim by it, stuco?

What kind of cam are we talking about? Will they work in freshwater? Bc water is not clear to see everything like salt water

I’ve got GARMIN 73SV which includes side view and bottom view sonars. I’m looking for livescope to add to my GARMIN also bought a boat that didn’t have a trolling motor. I can’t afford to spend $5K for both GARMIN trolling motor and livescope. That’s why I posted this to see if anyone’s selling it. Underwater cam sounded interesting to me. I’m wondering if it’ll work for freshwater? Our freshwater gets murky sometimes.

I've seen some small cameras they attach to the line when trolling. The livescope is a much better option if you can afford it. I think the documentation on my camera said the range will be about twice what you can see. It's a great option for ice fishing, but not great out on a boat.

If I could spend that type of money, I believe a spot lock trolling motor would give me more fish catching advantage than a live scope. Once I get a spot lock, I am sure it will increase my need to have a live scope.
