That's the biggest problem, I think , especially TWICE. Big help is a sewing accessory, a needle threader, but that has limitations. Cost about a dollar or two and can be a huge help.

Agree a palomar is the way to go. Tie a few with your glasses or magnifying device and then try a few without looking. Its a simple knot.

#1 don't use a fisherman's knot as it fails at 50% of lines dead pull strength. Use a trilene knot or a polamer knot. For loop knots I use a king sling or a brubaker. I use prescription polarized sunglasses. I use grey in clear water. Brown in stained and yellow or amber on cloudy days in muddy waters. Don't use yellow lenses on clear days as it ads 15% more light you'll hurt your eyes

If you have osteo arithitis my dr prescribes Meloxicam 15 mg or 7.5 mg once daily, and I also get triple flex over the counter at Costco. They are not the cure all but they help. I've got arthritis everywhere from 50 years of heavy work in the garage door industry. I keep a pair of cheaters in my tackle bag. My eye site is fair up close but need glasses for mid and distance. Palomar not is my best to use. I've had cortison and cortisteroid injections that don't help me at all, almost 78 and just deal with the pain. I can fish from my boat for 5 or more hours without any pain I think fishing is the best therapy, don't even think about pain while fishing no matter how many I catch. Larry W.

I've been experiencing that situation lately also. I found this out by accident, but it's helped. A good headlamp and a dark background. The background helps out with contrast, yet other times it's a lighter background. Either way the contrast, good light and the reading glasses almost get me there. It's frustrating to say the least but I can't stop fishing. Yeah,ultralight,2lb test and Trout magnets are a go-to for me also.

There are devices on the market that you can use to tie knots on your line
Go on line there are a couple of companies on line.

Another thing I do is carry a black felt tip pen and color a couple inches on the end of the line. It sure helps to see it.

I like Alaska Charlies idea. Black felt tip marker against a light background. So I tried it. Put on my fishing vest (light brown) marked about a foot of 2lb test and with the headlamp and glasses l really could see a difference. Thanks, I never thought of that.

Make sure that the jig eye is clean. I think jagged paint edges cause trouble. I actually bought a jig eye punch this year because I’ve always used another jig’s hook to punch it through.
