After seeing the "Long may it Wave" one, I started thinking about Carter and his "Pardon" of all the Draft Dogers that went to Canada, ect. "To Heal the Country".
So all the guys that went and died in Nam and all those that did go after being drafted "Didn't Count"?
As I look back over my life and all the politics, I realize that the Democrats do not like our military personal. But then neither does our "News Reporters". It is like we should not believe in our country or love what it stands for, as least to us.
My thought has always been "Love it or Leave it". Those that cry about our police (and I admit there are bad ones) have no idea about how the police act in other countries. Or how prisoners are treated in other countries.
Sorry to rant, just had to dump some of my frustrations.
If people here can dance/stomp on our f**g, can we do the same thing on other countries f**gs here? Or would that then be R****t? How about burning a f**g of Mexico or other Southern America countries?
I'll stop and see if this is deleted.

Doubt if it is deleted already in the attic. However going to respond next week this time. Even though you bring up valid points, for me it's that time of year to put politics aside.

Agree with you about the time of year. That's why I said sorry for the rant.
It would be really great if all believed in "Peace on Earth", but a lot do not.
I wish for it not only for me but my family and all those I know and those I don't know.

BTW I started it in the Attic. I have not yet been banned on the site and don't really want to for that matter.
"Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night." And as Red Skeleton always ended his show, "God Bless".

No problem with a rant Audigger. Better to get it off your chest than hold it in. You know many of us listen, a few respond, debates get going and some like me will be back on it later.

Merry Christmas to you and the family fellow Marylander

With plum, we can discuss this later. If it makes you feel any better about it, although I'm not a member of any party, I generally agree with and v**e for Democrats, and I am a retired Navy veteran. 21 years. And I think you are incorrect.

Probably same reason the Washington town I just moved out of, houses were covered in really dark f**gs, or really colorful ones ,or both, but on Memorial Day most of the people I talked to wanted to fly the F**g of our nation but were scared of vandalism in retaliation for flying something so offensive……
In Wyoming now, American F**g everywhere and “We the People” abounds….

You can’t categorize all of the Democrats in one basket I’m Democratic and very much am proud of our Military personal I won’t comment on what I think should happen to some of the crap that is going on in our nation because I’ll be booted off the site 👎 what our boys have done for king and country is well beyond the grateful 😇 and gratitude 🙏 they deserve I’ll leave it at that

But just saying I have great uncles who were in the Second World War my dad in the Korea war and two other uncles in Vietnam all for this country but I am a democrat

POTUS has proposed 750 BILLION dollar budget for National Defense for fiscal '22. How's that for hating the military?

Evidently not quite enough
On Dec. 15, the Senate passed the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, that authorizes $768 billion for military spending, including about $28 billion to fund the Energy Department’s nuclear weapons programs. This was a $25 billion increase over President Joe Biden’s defense budget request for 2022 and only allows a 2.7 pay raise against a 6.2 inflation =net loss of pay

Who decides what portion of that 750 billion dollars goes to military pay? I'd be willing to bet it ain't POTUS, Maybe I'm wrong.

From all I’ve read the long answer is extensive. Short answer Congress. POTUS does an initial budget request and still signs off at end

President still has much influence over spending, Trump renegotiated the F-35 contract to a $738 million savings

Trump takes credit for it. I don't give him credit for it. I've read statements by defense personnel that say it would have happened even if Hillary had been president. POTUS had just about nothing to do with it. But if Hillary had been president I'm sure she would have taken credit for it just like Trump.
