I was thinking about rubbing pork chops on her . That might work

For you or the dog Ben? Haha, just kidding. As for a few miles, nothing better than a classic! As for the dog, with your time away she could try to teach the dog something new. Anything new. It will establish the pecking order and the rewards given for proper behavior will help establish a bond that you approve. Be sure to praise his obeisance to her commands. Dogs despond to voice tone and body language very well. If discipline is needed have a “time out” place for the wife, I mean the dog 😬 you should be the one directing that “time out” if needed. He will get the message “ that’s not acceptable if you deliver it, he will take it as a challenge if your wife delivers it. That will change as soon as the dog has become good with I’m #3. Just give it time

Loves ridin in truck.
Still has to meet some of the grandkids im thinking he will be fine.
Met my brother. Took right up to him.

Ben,
Since you are gone a lot you may already be doing this but I would have your wife and no one else feed him for a few weeks. Feed twice daily. Only what he'll eat, then take up the pan until the next feeding. That way when he's hungry he will look to her for groceries.

Yup. We only give our little guy 1/2 cup at dawn. 1/2 c at 6Pm

The woman from previous ownership probably mistreated the dog so the dog does not like women. With kindness and time the dog may accept your wife as not a threat. Suggest she gives the dog treats or takes care of the feeding to help gain trust .
