You have thrilled my soul with your enthusiasm and great story line from this outing! Glad that you and your friend got to connect and ply the waters in a "teach and catch" mode! Love that gigantic smile...which means the heart inside is overflowing with joy!

Good story J and it sounds like you had a good day with someone who likes to fish and teach others.

Was a great day and my buddy was teaching me a ton but honestly he’s a pretty tight lipped guy. I only got that info and lesson because we are good friends.

So finally it all aligned for myself and the best bass fisherman I know to get out fishing today. We headed out to the East Harbor after Bass. We took his boat, a beautiful bass boat, immaculately kept. He and I work hand and hand on a lot of projects so I see him and talk fishing all the time. Any really good info I have or have shared probably came from or through him.

The plan was catch some fish and teach me about catching bass. He’s a talker!!! I learned sooooo much about Bass fishing!

Hit the water about 10:30. I ran three presentations all day, Chartuise chatter bait with zoom shad trailer, Rage toad with 1/16th oz weighted EWG and a wacky rigged June bug Senko. Scott through all those plus a baby blue and white large blade spinner, a black whopper plopper, and a Texas rigged black with red speckle zoom craw.

We left the ramp and headed to our first spot. The edge of a 1/2 acre Lilly pad area I started off with the chatter bait and within the first 20 minutes fish on. I caught a nice 2lber and was just elated. If you’ve read my other posts you know I’ve struggled to catch bass. Continued to work that area and I continued to catch! Next one was 2-6. The third one is what I’m now using as my PB LM 3-5. Im sure I caught bigger when I was a kid but in the last 15 yrs it’s the biggest bass I’ve caught. I picked up 2 more both smaller than the 3-5 and Scott refused to weigh fish smaller than the biggest one caught. He was busting my balls because at that point we was still sitting at zero.

We headed down the rocky shore line and Scott hooked up. Little guy was like 8 inches but he wasn’t skunked. In my book. In his that was to little to count.😂🤷🏻‍♂️ Gave that area about another 45 min with no action then made a run out to rock piles.

Fished those for 45 min with no luck. But all the while he’s explain where to cast and why. And how to maneuver the boat. Just so much great info.

Made a run and fished some points, a couple channels with no fish catching but so much learning on my part. Had a couple come unbuttoned, poor hook sets!

Finally ended up in another Lilly pad area and we started throwing top waters. I had 2 fantastic blow ups but I totally fubared the hook set. Scott on the other hand nailed 2 nice 2&1/2lb rang fish on his rage toad. We then worked our way into a marina and he taught me about flipping docks. I had no luck but he caught another 2 with the Texas rigged craw.

At this point it was about 6:00 and we made the run back to our original cove. Fish where busting all over. I picked up a couple more about 2lb. One on the senko and on more on the chatter. Scott caught one on a chatter and 6lb slime dog (Northern Pike) on the whopper plopper.

I kept the dog and he’s dinner tomorrow. All Bass where released unharmed. Finally count I caught 7 bass had 4 more tail walk and come unbuttoned. Scott caught 6bass one Pike and had 3 come unhooked.

It was the best most fun day of fishing I’ve had since I was a boy. Weather was beautiful we laughed and caught some fish. Nothing better in this world!!!!
So finally it all aligned for myself and the best ... (show quote)

Thanks! He and his dad have had it since 98’. They take great care of it. He said new carpet 3 years back and a couple new seats this year. Inside and out it looks like new. And it gets used a lot!
