thank you BadFisherman

Thanks to our friend Armageddun for inspiring me to post the following, as laughter is a gift we can give ourselves and others. Humor really is our saving grace, and it helps keep us psychologically healthy.

"If you could choose one characteristic that would get you through life, choose a sense of humor." –Jennifer Jones

"Humor is something that thrives between man's aspirations and his limitations. There is more logic in humor than in anything else. Because, you see, humor is truth." –Victor Borge

"Humor is the affectionate communication of insight." –Leo Rosten

"Like a welcome summer rain, humor may suddenly cleanse and cool the earth, the air and you." –Langston Hughes

Gulley Jimson, one of the great characters in English fiction, at the very end of the novel The Horse's Mouth, has suffered a stroke and he is joking with one of the nuns as he lies dying on a gurney in a Catholic hospital. She says to him "At a time like this, Mr. Jimson, don't you think it would be better to pray a little more and laugh a little less?"

"Same thing, Mother." Gulley's reply.

I read that about 60 years ago and I've never forgotten it.
Thank you bb.

Love the Eric Sevareid quote about power. I'll leave it at that so as not to start a brouhaha on a fishing site!
I'm sure some will get my drift.
