i got a question if i use a 17-25 line weight rod can i use 30 line? will it break my rod or what?
I doubt it, make sure your drag is set right.
It is very common to up the line #or lower the weight to any particular Rod it’s a user’s preference depending on species of fish 🐠 you are targeting you want a lighter more sensitive Rod but don’t want to worry about breaking your line or the opposite good luck 🍀 tight lines
Good advice. I could not add a thing. Just Sayin...RJS
Line weight just means what works best. But the upper number is to give a go no go to keep you from over loading your rods breaking point. If you want to use a heavier line, which I do, you just need to be cognizant of how tight you set your drag. We usually set drag to allow fish to run but under strain to wear them out but not so loose that as in a spinning reel we are just cranking without pulling in line which puts twists in the line. And of course you can use a lighter line if you want.
