Is a $400+ reel worth the price if you're only using 10lb braid?

You can get a nice for under 3. But been awhile since I bought one. Seems to me one and done when you purchase a Calcutta. Good luck. And I have broken spendy rods. But my Calcutta just keeps keepen on

I really don't remember breaking rods until the IM6 rods came out. From that point rods seemed to be somewhat brittle. If a rod fell over onto a sharp corner that's where the rod would eventually break. The only thing I like about the new rods are the light weight & the eyes. I only have 3 Calcutta's now, two 200's & one 100. Another older round reel
I like is the Abu Garcia Black Max Pro models. The 1600 & 3600. I have a few low profile reels from Shimano, Diawa, Abu & Lew's but they aren't as comfortable on a rod to me. I'll probably wind up with the new Calcutta but I'm not solid on the rod I'll put it on. If it would just quit raining I'd take my old Mitchell 308 out tomorrow & catch some white bass. Lotta fun.

This question seems a little odd to me.most reels have adjustable drags....lol and if I spend 400 on a reel I would certainly use it for more than#10 braid...My 2cents.
