I'm sure we have all been used and taken advantage of, I have been accused of being gullible and stupid but in the final analysis if I am hard used by someone or if my trust is betrayed it is a reflection on them not me. I won't let them do it twice, I walk away, but I don't quit being open to folks either. I often wonder if it might just help someone learn to be better by having me trust them. Usually not but maybe just one person and then it's all worth it I think!

Concur. If one person learns, that’s a good start. Every journey starts with one step.

tomorrow. Like the concept, but it's not always easy. Sometimes it edges toward forgive, but never forget.

My motto is "becareful who you trust". That doesn't mean be mean to people it's simply watch your back because you and God are, really, the only two you can count on and sometimes you can't even count on yourself . Of course, like all others, my ideas are based on past experiences. πŸ˜‰

Wulff. You have done well to maintain that perspective. We have numerous disappointments in life, and they are cumulative, and it makes it hard not to get too tough on others who are not deserving of mistrust. You understand how one needs to stay positive when at all possible. Congrats on that, brother.

It sometimes comes with great effort and I'm just as human as all of us are and sometimes I fail but I do try. As we look at the mess our society is in and we/I feel so helpless to do anything about it, I have just made up my mind to try to bring a little bit of sunshine to the small corner of the world that I occupy. Sometimes it even works, so those times make it worth it.
