I am heading out duck hunting next weekend for the opener as well. Good luck to you guys! I am really looking forward to it.

The oil spill down here in Orange County, CA has shut down the fishing from north of Huntington Beach to South of San Clemente - extending about 5 miles out. So, I haven't been able to kayak fish for a couple of week.

Have a good hunt next week!

Where are you going?
We got drawn for Mendoda Ref #19 for Saturday and Salt Sought #18 for Sunday.
Are you going to Wister ref or San Jansento (we call it San Jack.)
My other two son belong to Raahauges's Duck club..
Have a great hunt
I learned to duck at Wister and the Salton Sea.
Shot a lot of Snows Honkers went they use to use the Salton sea!
Grew up in Orange county.
Now I live in Modesto and hunt the grass lands
Good luck and shoot straight.
Andy

JOJ I have a hardhead all my life n I refuse to lay down n let old age run me over. I'll soon be 75 n I know how lucky I am. I attribute it to working hard n outside. I take 10mg of colestrol med n that's all. Keep kicking brother 👍👍

I am in a club on gun club road in Gustine in the north grasslands. So I will be in the same general area. Not likely that we see geese this early, but we typically see gwteal, ringnecks, wigeon, sprig and maybe a greenhead or two. (I pass on the spooneys.)

I am really looking forward to it.

I live in Orange County (Laguna Niguel). Moved down here in 2020 after living in Northern CA my entire life. Chasing grandkids (my daughter, her husband and their 7 and 5 year old moved down here from Redwood City in 2020, too).

Been a member of the duck club for 25+ years and the other members (11 total including me) are just good guys. I used to hunt every Wednesday and most weekends when we lived in Los Altos - just a 100 minute drive door-to-door, but now with a 5 hour drive each way, I only get up there about 6 to 7 weekends each season.

My buddy and I have been trying to get on a duck club up here called the Wacky Mallard he has a friend who belongs to the club and the last two yrs. He has been hunting their with him. We almost got a member ship their this year! But the blind that we were going to get the member decided not to give it up this year so we are on the list.
It is off 165 across from San Luis Refuge. Hope to get in next year 🙏. Use to belong to club 13yrs ago in the grasslands in back of San Luis Refuge, it was ok , but it was was great when the Specks came down. It was a large cattel ranch. But it got sold and the new owners 😕 did not want any hunting on it !!
