I was raised if the month has an ( R ) in it, it's oyster eating time. Steamed are okay, raw is the way to go.

Sometimes they extend it the middle of May. Might have to change that month to Mary to get the R on there.

LOL i like em, but probably would have my fill of them long before Mary month.
I introduced horseradish and ketchup mix on the oysters to my fishing bud down south before he died. The new tradition was kept by the fam since his passing and still talk about it with his wife and kids.

Welcome to the forum Jchown. Was up you way a couple weeks ago. My fishing buddy & I fished Sturgeon Bay for a week. I catch a few walleye now & then but nothing steady. Walleye aren't a big draw here. Enjoy the forum.
