This question is pertaining mainly to bank fishing I guess, as that’s mostly what I do,the backpack pictured is what I use,it’s actually a day hiking backpack with internal spin system,I put the Plano box for the day in the pack,I carry only what I need as to keep the weight down, not uncommon to hike/walk 3-4 miles in the outing, but call me lazy,I really don’t like taking the pack off every time I need to put a new worm on,with the Lilly’s I’ll go through 6-8 worms an outing, hence the other pics, A buddy of mine who fishes has this particular bag, it is a fanny pack style bag, and he keeps just essentials in there, I got the bag off of Amazon, and I am going to keep One or two small Plano boxes that will contain hooks and soft base I am currently throwing, along with my braided line cutting scissors and needle nose pliers, basically exactly what I would need if I had to replace the worm or I had my hook torn off from a lily branch and I had to re-hook the line, i’m curious to see what some of the people on here use for their daily hikes fishing trying to stay compact and light weight but yet serving their needs, show me what y’all using🎣
Been watching addicted fishing on YouTube hoping to catch what brand their guy Jordan uses….I need one also. Often I head out from the car with one extra lure in my pocket, does keep it simple, if I lose both must be time to head home, but am looking at some highland lakes with 4 mile mountainous hike ins so would need to pack more.
This is the second time this has come up this week. I have used a two strap backpack, a shoulder bag, fanny pack and my favorite for comfort, ease of use and capacity is the one pictured below. It has three main pouches plus two small inserts from the sides, plus an outside loop fir a water bottle. You can fit a couple of Plano boxes . In the main pouch. Worm packs in the smallest and whatever else in the middle. When I flounder fish from the surf I can cover a couple of miles if beach on foot. It's convenient too, because with the single Sling strap I can swing the pack around to the front without removing it to access any if the pockets.
I’m too old to hike more than a mile or two so I use a small sling bag I got off Amazon. It’s compact, light & comfortable. It’s designed for fishing & nicely organized. It doesn’t hold a ton of gear but more than a Fanny pack. I think they have a couple different sizes.

That looks like a nice sling,I will still use my backpack but put essentials into the Fanny pack so I would not have to takeoff my backpack every time, that is a great carrying idea though, thank you for sharing Bosshogg🎣

Looks like you have already gone through this process Flytier, and I have seen that spider wire pack before, it looks very user-friendly, hopefully the Fannypack I am picking up works out well for me, thank you for sharing🎣

I will get my fanny pack on Thursday and I will use it over at Riverfront Park this weekend and I will put up my thoughts or reviews on the fanny pack, hopefully it will be of some insight for you while you are searching for one yourself, thanks Shutupanfish🎣

Thanks, lots of sling types but picturing a one strap backpack sliding off if wearing while fishing and reaching down, hopefully for a fish, or something…..and thinking should operate as a dry bag to throw in the drift boat

I guess it could but I haven't had a problem with it in 5 years. To each his own..😃

Hey Rhyno Henry here I have a backpack from Bass Pro. The pack comes in two pieces that zip together the bottom piece that you ZIPPER off the top section holds 5 Plano 3600s has a strap to carry that way I leave the top half in the car and just take the bottom I also take a small carry that I keep my plastic baits in. It ran me I think 40$ with the boxes more than enough room to carry lots of gear and then you can load what you want to hike with in the smaller bag🐟🎣😀👍

That actually sounds like a useable combo HenryG,And of course I would expect to hear of better ideas of the one I have already purchased, oh well, all I can hope for is that the fanny pack works out for my needs, I should be getting it this Thursday like I said I will throw up my thoughts on it and see if it helps anybody else, thank you for sharing HenryG🎣
