I recently started fishing again, havnt been to Mosquito lake in around 20 years, I remember the catfishing and walleye were great when I was a kid. Anyone been there recently and point me in the right direction?
Been about 15 years for me, but I liked the lake and got a limit of walleye. Welcome.
Last time I was there I was 12 camping with my parents, I remember my dad and uncle pulling in fish left and right. Hoping I have some luck next week, temp suppose to be low 70s

I was looking to fish walleye in Mosquito Lake in October but my cousin lives in Green said it's full of he called it seaweed and they drained Pam down because of dam problems. I need to get more info before I fly 1200 miles!

Cousin just drove across the causeway and said that was bull about the weeds. It was glass smooth only a few boats fishing and not many fishing off the causeway.
I’ve been out there this year. Weeds no worse then they’ve been the last 5 years. No luck on walleye but I’ve heard from buddies that have done ok by the reserve boundary. PM me if you’d like and I’ll send you some info and a map. Lakes so clean the walleye hide in the weeds to protect there eyes.
Been hearing recently that as far as inland lakes West branch has been the spot for walleye this year.
I called the marina, I was planning on renting a boat next week but the lady sounded like it will be to windy, plans may be ruined...

Hi, Love to offer you some assistance. Apologies in advance, I’m unclear how to do so with any degree of privacy. Perhaps you will post recommendations of how to assist you discreetly. Would love to provide you guidance. Fished the lake for years, every season. Thanks DrRJD

I PM ed you looking for info on Mosquito Lake.
Mosquito lake in Ohio is a nice fishing lake. I did well there this summer. We caught lots of crappie and fished a lot of walleye. There are many, many spots to fish for many different species. My advice would be to get a fishing map and fish the areas marked gravel bottom and reef areas. Be sure to fish the reefs, on top and along the drop offs of those reefs. Select which side of the reef to fish by wind direction. Keep your baits very simple. Worms on a hook, minnows on a hook and lures on a 3 way swivel or in line weights. This is an 11 mile long lake so there are too many spots to mention here. That fishing map will be very helpful. Also near the dam is a bait shop and boat rental, they can be very helpful especially if you buy bait or ren a boat. Good luck to you and most of all, have fun out there!
wondering if the lakes name has something to do with the better than average fishing. Hey..if folks think they're gonna get drained of bodily fluids by bugs, they probably wont go to a place that has it in the name

No they named the lake for the creek that they dammed to drown the Mosquitoes.
