I think I am fortunate, I went on 2 trips to the lake without catching any fish. I changed bait, location, time, distance of cast, but I found them.

What kind of sadomasochist are you to ask a question like that? Dec 2019 until Feb 2021. Are you happy now?

18 years!
But to be fair, I only just started fishing again recently
Having a lot of fun restocking my tackle boxes, and replacing my old lines.
Not having much luck catching bass - although, if I'd settle for bluegill, I'd do better.
So far, two tiny largemouth bass, about three weeks ago.

I’m comming up in a month but I haven’t been out. Busy with life stuff. Work. 20th wedding anniversary. Stiff like that.

Normal fishing trips. Gosh , hard to say. It I get skunked it’s a deal. If I get skunked twice. It’s a rarity. But it does happen

Longest I have ever gone without catching a fish was about 4 1/2 months, mind you I fish almost predominantly with Matt, so I am going all this time without so much as a bite or a fish while I am watching Matt reel them in left and right

Lincoln california, just like it says in my posts. That's about 20 miles north east of Sacramento. Real fruit and nut country.

Not joking at all. I did not catch a fish in 2020. Finally caught a pike minnow (squawfish) in Feb this year. And I went out with Saw in April and we caught a bunch of stripers, 30 or so. Haven't caught a fish since then.

Wow, I guess my 2 times without a fish caught wasn't bad. I will stop complaining. Yesterday I caught a 3.25 lb bass which for me was large.
When I am up North again I will give you a shout out. My daughter is a guide in Yosemite so I go see her a lot.

thank you. I nearly always target trout, so when I say I haven't caught any fish it really means I haven't caught any trout. Haven't caught much of anything else either and not likely to where and how I fish normally. Don't have any idea what's up, prior to this dry spell I used to catch trout whenever I tried. It was a rare day when I went out and got skunked. Now if I go to the store to buy one, they're sold out. Know what I mean? Oh well, I keep going.

I asked in another topic on Fishingstage, whether they thought that "Catch & Release" may be affecting the ability to catch fish?

I'm sure that fish "learn" what they can and cannot eat.
Maybe that behavior of avoiding certain bait/lures, has become part of their psyche?
Those lunker fish didn't get that way from being stupid.
What do you guys think?

I went a year w/o fishing in Nam. Other than that, I have never gone a year without a catch sense age 7. It is what it is Spirit. I ran charter boats for 15 years and only had 3 tips with a skunk. It can and does happen. As for my last fish, it was a week ago on my last trip out. We caught about a dozen sole and ten crabs, along with some stag horned sculpin (often called bullheads). I have not been posting as the catch has been similar each time out this year. I can photo and post if that is what is wanted. Not many crab post in the future as this is the last weekend of the season.
