Thanks everyone! It's been waaaayy to long since I landed my last fish. I had a 2 to 3 pound smallie come off. Then I caught that easy 4 1/2 pounder. Then I caught that silver thing. It was dark so I could only feel it and hear it when it broke the surface. When I got it on shore and saw it wasn't the 7 pound smallie I was hoping it was, I was so bummed!

Head and body look like it may be a Sauger but without the back fin showing you just can't tell !

It's a peamouth.
In a pikeminnow the mouth comes back to under the eye.

Even though the mouth position would suggest otherwise, they feed along the bottom in slow or standing water.

Huh. Never heard of a peamouth. I've fished with peas for opal eye.
