Just started hitting the sound behind Emerald Isle. I’m in a Jon boat so I’m not chasing schools or zipping around to a bunch of different spots by any means. Just looking for some decent backwater or slightly calmer areas that I can float around and find a few fish. Trout and drum are the primary focus. Any tid bits of direction would be greatly appreciated! Tight lines.

Ben, i used the diesel Z man baits with shrimp scent last week on the inner banks side of the Pamlico Sound. That shrimp scent made the biggest difference.
Frozen shrimp pieces work well i have heard on your lure as well.
