more frustration, changed the solenoid and still only clicking, not activating the starter. Starter run when jumped. Been reading online it still could be the starter as its many years old. Still alarms when turning key to start, at least the alarm stopped on just turning on with new ignition switch. New starter is around $60 so may need to get one and see. Am wondering if the alarm is stopping it but can hear click at solenoid

Starter can be cleaned,( carbon buildup) if you're so inclined.
