Came across some tiny frogs couldn’t have been more than an inch in size and had a thought of trying them for live bait for trout. I’ve never done this before so how would you go about rigging these for trout??

Do an experiment, try them, then report back to Fishing Forum/Stages what the results are. Hook em through the lips allows them to remain alive and kickin. Just Sayin...RJS

Can't advise on trout rigging. For bass, i hook-them through the leg opposite of the edge of the cover .I fish near, as they will tend to rotate in the direction toward the hooked leg. I believe this is due to line drag and hook weight on that side. The advantage of this is ( I think ) is that a slightly injured frog should be more tempting to a predator bass. Must cast this set-up gently to prevent the hook ripping out. I use spinning gear for this reason, on this application. Next spring, when wood frogs & Peepers are numerous, I'm gonna try to super glue a pre snelled leader on these guy's legs and try to lob them out with my bait cast gear. Will let you all know then how successfully this works.Cant use leopard frogs-as bait in Connecticut, they would be ideal. Our "DNR" here thinks they are endangered. Maybe so , but I know spots where yu can't walk without then flushing en mass. RJS's cast net capture for grasshoppers would work great at these locations. Oh well...

Hook em through the lips with a small hook so that they stay alive you can use a spit shot to bring them down in the water column
