I’ll be on lake Merwyn next week. What is some good fly fishing there? I’d love to fish for Kokanee but they run deep. All recommendations are welcome. Thanks to all. Gerry

There’s tiger musky I’ve caught there over 3 ft long on 6 lb and a small rapala. Bet they’d be fun on a fly rod

Are you taking about lake Merwin east of Woodland?
I’ve done a lot of Kokanee fishing at Merwin over the last four years but have never seen anybody fly fishing. Bank access is very limited to none…IDK maybe you’ve got a boat. But there are lake trout there…🐟on

True enough about a boat, never thought of bank fishing there, did get one of the musky in front of the trees to the left of the Speelyai ramp on a little SR5 diving shadrap. Think they’d hit a big streamer. Never heard of lake trout there, not listed by wdfw. Would have targeted them if I’d known.

Sounds like streamers. Any suggested patterns and locations? Many thanks.

Great thoughts and thanks to all. We’ll be trolling with downriggers but I’ll watch for structure and work it periodically. What streamers do you recommend for lake trout and the Muskies?

As I mentioned before. I wasn’t intentionally fishing for trout but I picked up a couple trolling for Kokanee with a wedding ring on down riggers @ 50’…🐟on

Many thanks. I did see that. 50’ it is. The dodger also makes sense.

No pics unfortunately. Skunked on a cold windy day other than some trash fish. Got a Chinook out of the Kalama on my 7w fly rod though so it wasn't a total loss.
