yes and pray for our country on whole! As a nation we have taken for granted and turned away from the God who has blessed and protected us. Now we have come to the point were we rely on little g (government) to supply and meet all our needs instead of big G (God) and the results are predictable. Like a drug addict or acholic until we reach bottom and admit we have a big problem and willing to change the distructive course we are on the downward self destructive slide will continue. Yes we need to pray but we need to humble ourselves, and turn to God. Our government is just a picture of our nation on whole and it is a broken and not so pretty picture. God wants to give us what we need but often He must first give us what we deserve to get our attention. America look around has He gotten your attention yet or are we going to continue down this path of destruction?

talk about reading into something that you want to see. No we pray for their protection, and wisdom as well that they seek God and His leading as they exercise their role of leadership. Joe Biden clearly has physical and mental decline and challenges that we would pray for, he has many who would use this for their political gain and furthering their agenda that would do harm to this country, and he needs wisdom and protection from false advice of those in power with him.

he is quoiting psalms 109 which was a psalm written by Kind David. But of course he is using this text out of context and misapplying it to make his own point.

Go back and put those verses in context and consider also David’s position in his life. Although David was called “a man after God’s own heart”, he also had many bad times when he was not living like he should. This was true of most, if not all, of Jesus’ followers. He did not call religious leaders to follow him or to accomplish his works. He chose tent makers, a Doctor, an “IRS agent” (lol), a prostitute, shepherds, and fishermen etc..
Christians are NOT perfect; just forgiven. Salvation is not just a one-time experience, in most cases. It is a process that continues throughout one’s life.

ps. 109 is David responding to attacks from his enemy, we really don't know if he was referring to Saul and the many times he was hunted down or tried to k**l him or if it was during another r*******n by someone else but the context is not praying for our leaders in our country or is it even advocating praying for our leaders instead it is praying for God's intervention and protection against evil and calling on Him to administer justice as David thought it should be administered. So clearly to put it in the context to pray for our president is out of context and to try to make the call for justice for the evil done to him by his enemies applicable to pray for our our president is a wrong application and is why I suggested 1 Timothy 2:1-4 as a better verse in context since it does tell us to pray for those in authority and tells us what we should pray for.

As for your Ephesians 5:22 passage this as with most Biblical teaching is to be applied to ones own behavior or conduct not given for the purpose of quoting it for someone else to apply to their behavior or conduct. So if you are a wife this is the Biblical role for wives but if you are a husband Ephesians 5:25-33 is what you should be concerned about and apply to your conduct or behavior.

As spirit27 says the Bible can be made to say anything you want it to say if you don't pay attention to the context of what is being read a classics example is taking two verses such as Matthew 27:5 "...he departed, and he went and hanged himself." and luke 10:37"...And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.” of course this is an extreme example for illustration but to take these two verses out of context and then say "Jesus said go hang yourself" would be obviously a misapplication biased on verses out of context and even if that is what someone may think the Bible is saying it clearly is not.

I didn't make the orginal statement to start to a bible/theology discussion. I made it to be sarcastic. No, sir, I won't disappear nor leave. I'll still be here. And I will still hold my oppinions. The thing about sarcasm is when it is online where facial expression or voice intonation can not be seen or heard it is hard to catch sometimes. not sure I would have responded any different even if I had known you were being sarcastic since I do believe we should pray for our leaders even if we do not agree with what they are doing or their policies and for the record I am not a supporter of this current administration and did not v**e for him, and I believe Soros is by far the greater "i**********nist" than anyone on J*** 6 But there is nothing that I can do about it now but pray and trust God. I certainly did not say nor did I imply that you should fade into nothingness. No one else on here did either. Speak your piece and have your say. Just know that not everyone on the Stage feels the same way you do. You are entitled to your political views and your religious beliefs and you should feel free to express them. But so am I. I guess you were thinking that everyone would find that praying for Biden thing amusing. Well, you were wrong. I for one fail to see the humor. A lot of the members of this forum claim that they believe in the power of prayer. I don't. But that doesn't mean that I think it should be taken lightly. I freely admit that I could be wrong. If I am, then please don't pray for bad stuff like that to happen. And think about it - if Joe were to die, look at who would take his place. And think about this - if something were to happen to her, guess who's 2nd in line. How would you like that?
