Thank y'all for making me feel 'like one of the boys' from day 1, not a bad thing. I fish 3x/wk, catch enough each week; have not purchased catfish in a market for 15 yrs.

16 years ago I was suddenly widowed with 2 sons in college. My husband did not fish. I endured 23 fishless years, store bought fish, see the tear running down my cheek. Started back fishing. My parents fished nearly every weekend, feeding a family of 6. We did not know it but we were working for our dinner.
Each of you has been nothing but kind and make me lol and grin. High 5 y'all. Glad there are more women on here then when I first started!

WH, like everything in life a woman's perspective even in fishing is much appreciated. There may be a Neanderthal or two among us here on the stage but for the most part we Love our Gals.

Besides where else can we say we are talking with our Weekend hooker and get away with it?

Just a 'heads up' for our lady friends (and other 'newbies'); if everyone hasn't been made aware yet, we had
a big 'Meet and Greet' planned for
this past May that got postponed
due to the COVID - it should be back on for May, 2022 ! I'm sure more info will be released soon - Randy
Hartford is our 'point man' and is doing a great job of getting this shindig organized !

I will include the basics, but any further info/updates should come from him ! The location will be Perry
Lake and Clinton Lake State Parks
just west of Lawrence, Kansas ! He has been making arrangements for our group to rent cabins at both locations at a well-discounted rate,
plus some folks will be camping out
or RV-ing, or renting motel rooms in
Lawrence !

He will probably wait until he has
all the proverbial 'ducks in a row'
to post further info, but some folks
(myself included) may need more
time to plan/arrange their finances
foe such a trip, so I'm taking this
upon myself to give our new
members a well-advanced notice !

Nothing is 'carved in stone' yet,
but I'm sure he'll let everyone know
the 'what, where and when' as soon
as he's ready ! Last I heard, we had
a group of about sixty people signed up and eager to go - hope to see/
meet many of you there !

For anyone looking to rent a motel room in Lawrence - the 'Trivago'
travel site will probably yield the
best deals and rates - so far, a Days' Inn, Motel 6 and a couple of
'Super 8' motels have shown the
best deals for the budget-minded;
there are also some good deals on 'Airbnb' ! Good luck, and 'Happy Trails'
to everyone interested !

Funny, in the movie "Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison !", Robert Mitchum
implied that the term 'Mackerel Snappers' applied to nuns ! Or was
it Catholics in general ?

I think the food police say we should eat fish 3 times a week at least...which could lead one to HAVE to go fishing at least 5 times a week in order to be sure to have enough fish. 😁🎣

Used to be taken seriously and
devout Catholics would adhere
very closely to Lenten rules
regarding the abstinence from
eating meat on Friday during
both Lent and Advent - not so
much anymore ! I still like to eat fish/shellfish, but prefer saltwater species like haddock, cod or swordfish (when I can afford it) !
