Hello fellows and fellow-ettes.
I’m shore fishing in NYC, specifically in Brooklyn e.g. Coney Island, Sheepshead Bay, Canarise, and Rockaways. The fishing hasn’t been terrible but needs much to desire considering the price of bloodworms and other baits.
I’m always interested in knowing how other shore fishers are doing. I caught a striped bass 24” and through it back to my dismay. Last years legal strippers we 28”. This year 18”-28” are legal. I through back a keeper 😖😖😖

Rsb if NYC is like the rest of the northeast, Striper slot keepers are 28"-35".

Wow Rsb, that is unusual. I know they breed in the river (as well as Chesapeake Bay). Maybe protecting the ones old enough to breed, and allowing capture of schoolies. There's definitely more young ones around,so fishing should be good.

Can’t fight City Hall, so be it.
I’ll continue to catch Porgies, summer fluke, black fish and loads of sea robins.
