Haven’t fished for 40+years. Have a pole and real and a basic tackle box with basic tackle. Contra Costa Reservoir is local and am familiar with the layout from taking kids and grandchildren swimming and have used it as a walk path for exercise. I would appreciate any pointers on hook sizes for different fish etc. I want to be able relax and enjoy catching fish! Thanks

I would start at the local bait shop and talk to some other fishers and see what they are using.

Welcome to the stage Jerdana. Sorry I can't help you don't know the waters you're talkin about or what fish species you are trying to Target. Google and YouTube are great resources. Good luck on your fishing share some pictures😁👍
