How many of you while taking a walk, will pass someone in the park, on the beach, or the hallway at work and give a friendly greeting and nothing is returned on the exchange?

Like am i invisible or what?

We all have encountered rudeness, this sure is high on the list.

I live in NM. Went to Ontario, CA a few years back for a week. I would say good morning to the workers in the motel. First few days they would answer but give me strange looks. By the time I left they would answer with a smile. I have not encountered many people that would not answer.

Last year during COVID-19 shutdown on our morning walk Riley (toy poodle) and I frequently encountered a young woman walking two nice collies. I always spoke and even complimented her on her pretty dogs. No response. She always crossed the street to avoid us. One day because of traffic she had to approach and I said hello. When she replied I realized she was hearing impaired and had difficulty speaking clearly. And I had spent a month thinking she was a jerk.
