I have been catching Bass with the set up . They come in different sizes and weights, the small jigs have a smaller spinning blade you use a smaller swim bait I'll use a 2" shiner square tail.
I have caught Crappie with them. But I have found out after you catch a fish the bait likes to slid down a bit on the hook. This brand of swim baits is very soft and lots of salt injected πŸ’‰ in it.
So carry some super glue and put alittle on the front of the shafts of the hook. I have been using this set up the last 7or 8 times out
And have been doing very well.
Hope you give them a try and good luck with them.
I get them at Turner's outdoorsman it is company here in California.
I'm sure you can go on line
And order from them.
Good luck and safe fishing
Andy
If can't find them let me know.

Thanks Andy. I just picked up the 4" swimbaits at Dick's. They didn't have the bladed jigs so I'll swimbait jigs until I find bladed ones. I'm trying a new lake tomorrow, I'll let you know how they worked. Thanks again for the help my friend.

I like fishing the points and sides of the points and the islands or rocky walls any place where there are rocks.
Good luck
Andy

Fish Dancer
I don't know but I have been catching more Bass with the under spin jigs than with standard jig I belive the spinning blade attacks the Bass more because all the Bass I have caught on them they it completely in their mouth and they hit it hard!!
Have a good even
And great fishing 🎣

The Standup Underspins are designed to fish slowly across the bottom, or with a stop and go action to mimic a baitfish feeding on the lake floor.

When you feel a tap on the rod, just keep reeling steadily until the fish is latched on.

Too crazy of a hookset will jerk the bait right out of the mouth of a bass.

4 Reasons To Fish Underspins;

Underspins are some of the most universal baits you’ll find in your tackle box.

Year round, if you are in a clear water situation, these should be some of the first baits you tie on.

Many pros won’t go out on the boat without one.

They are perfect for suspended fish, and when big bass are hanging out around timber or a brush pile below the surface.

Here are 4 reasons to throw ’em more often:

1. Underspins Pair Up With Any Swimbait;

Classic underspins like the Fish Head Spin will give enough added action to your bait that you can hook up any swimbait, but something like the Castaic Jerky J with more action in the tail is ideal.

2. Underspins Cover Tons Of Water;

A key to underspin success is to cover tons of water.

Cast your bait as far as you can behind a Weedless Fish Head Spin and you don’t have to worry about any snags on the way back.

Confidently throw any trailer with a weed guarded underspin to drag through muck and around a laydown.

Let that swimming action pass by as many fish as possible.

3. Underspins Give TONS Of Added Action;

Bring the Fish Head Shaker back with a steady speed; not too fast but not too slow.

Shaking underspins have an extra lip around the head to give added vibration to your presentation, making it a deadly combo for a soft plastic like The Reaction Strike Chunky Shad.

4. Underspins Make Hookups Easy;

One important thing to keep in mind with these underspins is not to set the hook with a crazy jerk of the rod.

I was surprised 5weeks ago when caught a 12lb catfish and 10min's later my buddy throwing one caught a 10lb catfish about 50yrds from where I caught mine.
The why you describe using the under is how I have been working it. I have not found them with weed guards I will look for them.
Enjoyed reading what you.had to say.
I'm a Bass fishing 🎣 fool.
