This is CJ. She loads up in the Tahoe and goes to the lake with me. She has excellent lakeside manners. No barking, no biting, stays close, minds well and she is funny. C.J. is short for Calamity Jane. She us the State Dog of Texas. She is a Blue Lacy. 'Smoking' her corndog.

I took my dog Oscar with me on my kayak one time and when he jumped into the lake I grabbed him and dropped my rod. It went to the bottom of the lake. Funny part was I didn’t need to grab him, he was wearing a PFD. 😂🤣🤪 Oscar is the one on the right. He’s 15 years old now. Part dachshund and Queensland Heeler.

He has those heeler ears. Great dog picture. At least you got a new rod...right?

Cool dog pictures, took my dog Bowman out on the boat last year but he really doesn’t like the heat. He’s a fall and winter guy.

I have taken Sam the Wonderdog fishing many times, but she is a bundle of energy and does laps around the boat while I try to fish. I would not consider her a great fishing partner, but loves her boat rides. Every floating leaf gets her full attention as do the loons when the surface near us. She has done her fair share of swimming and we have practiced a few water rescues at times. She should stick to land as she is a great asset for grouse and pheasants.

Shade is a good thing. Even at the lake CJ eventually seeks shade

Yes she is. 12 years old and slowing down, but still loves to get after them for a couple hours. My Son gets her out during his off stretches while I am working, too. Sam is the best dog I have ever had.

I have the dog for a week club. Both daughters have dogs that I get to babysit if they go away. One is a mini poodle, the other a shiatsu. Both good dogs but way too active to take fishing. Couldn't leave them on the bank when I wade fish for SM or trout. Definitely can't take them to the beach. They are if nothing else sand magnets. Would take an weekend to get them clean. Which by the way is why my wife says no dogs.

Nice GSP OJ. A good dog should live forever.

My dog, R.O.S.E.Y., is definitely my fishing partner. She goes with me almost every time I go out. Loves the boat and is very well mannered while we fish. She watches the bobber on one line, while I cast lures with the other. She will just sit staring at the bobber till it takes off, then she starts “tap dancing” and I know to grab it. She’s only jumped out of the boat once, and that was when I caught a carp (about 5-6
lbs.) It was the only carp I’ve ever caught, and I think it scared her with its looks! She’s almost 10, and has been fishing with me most of her life. Great partner.
