I just had a fat one break me off with a Johnson Silver Minnow with a little Rootbeer colored grub trailing. First time I ever tried one of those. It sure worked.

Looks like you are getting good advice.
Call me and I'll put you on top of my favorite fishing holes at Gull lake .
I all so use baby night crawlers and hook them up like a plastic worm so the look natural with a small split shot about 18 to 24 inches I usually count to 10 an work it back slowly like when worm for Bass. I've caught a lot of Trout up there with that method.

No harm no foul. No, I was up at Truckee a week ago fishing up there. I've never been to Trinity, but it's on my list. I've been up to Redding several times and I've fished the Sacramento River up there, but never any of the lakes around there. Beautiful up there.
