True: Game Warden w/ Johnny

Gene and Johnny went spot lightning for deer one dark autumn night from Genes' pick up truck.
They were riding the mountain field roads looking for a deer with a really nice rack of antlers. They came to an open field and started to shine a light scanning and looking for a monster buck.
A pair of green eyes appears at the far end of the field.
Johnny gets his binoculars to the ready as Gene stops the truck.
Johnny excitedly says # There he is, there he is!!
Gene says* Don't do it..... don't do it!
Johnny gets the 30-06 rifle and sticks it out truck window pulling down a deadly bead on monster.
*Don't do it... don't you do it.!
KaBoom!! roars the gun.
The deer just stood there swishing his tail looking at them.
#Dam it , I missed!
Kaboom.. the gun roars again.
They both sat there quietly contemplating what to do now when they heard a firm quietly voice say, "He told you not to do it."
They both looked at each other then they looked out the window next to Johnny.
There stood a tall man in a forest green uniform.
The game warden had put out the new "Robo Buck" at the end of the field. He was a 10 point in buck with green reflection eyes and motorized swishing tail.
Johnny looked at the game warden. The game warden looked at Johnny and said, "He told you... don't do it!"

So I'm going to assume that Johnny and Gean both lost their privilege to hunt for a year or two and paid some pretty serious fines

Hunting fines, loss of hunting privileges for 5 year, jail and probation for destruction of government property, lost the truck and the gun.

Well that is some serious crime when it comes to hunting at night and poaching never heard of them taking the vehicle but it makes sense don't think they'll ever do that again what's that in the state of Maryland ?

When on federal land parks, they throw the book at you.
They even take your car and metal detector if you have your detector out of your trunk not in use, just out.

That one made me laugh... my FIL done just that many years ago!! Somehow got out of it like he usually managed to.. that man knew too many people in the right places..LOL

SD Game, Fish & Parks had their own setup on the Highway between Rapid City and Keystone when I lived there. They used a 24” wide B&C full body mount with a spotting vehicle and a chase car. The decoy was in a meadow about 150yds off the road. I watched guys lock up the brakes and shoot out of the windows, or off the hood in their haste. Some would keep shooting even when the chase vehicle pulled up….
The sawdust would fly and some kept shooting. That decoy paid for itself many times over and had to be sewn up many times! Quite often, the vehicles had out of state plates, too…but not always!
