fishing report potholes eastern Washington

DC Loc: Washington state

just got back from a 3 day fishing trip at potholes state park. We were fishing for walleye trolling a worm harness the blade type seemed to work better than the smile blades. The water level was down something like 8' and the sand dunes were above water. most walleyes were being caught trolling just outside the weed and brush around the dunes at the north end in about 12' of water. Fishing was kind of slow this year but this year seemed to be a real Smorgasbord of fish while we were targeting walleye we caught a large carp, 16" bass, some of the fattest and biggest bluegills I have seen, fair size perch, a couple real nice 3-3.5lb trout and 11 walleye mostly in the 16-18" size with one being 24". The weather is warming up with a water temp of around 72 degrees. And that is my report from potholes.

Excellen report, DC. I just returned from 3 days at Curlew Lake, near Republic WA.
Three of us went primarily for perch, which was slow fishing with bad weather the first
two days, but we had no problem catching limits of rainbows each day on kokanee gear
trolled at 1.5 mph. A single small flasher with a 10 inch leader and a small pink hoochie skirt
with a kernel of shoepeg corn did the trick.

I'm going to Curlew end of month with family for muskies. Did you see any? Their population has been down
Thanks

We saw one dead one, same as on a trip I made for them several years. Yes, I understand
they are getting quite scarce. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. Accidental and purposeful mortality has been an increasing problem
