Hello, I’m new to Norwich and am an avid fisherman. I’d like to start catching channel cats and would like some info on how to catch them.
Are you fishing in a river or lake.
Best time to fish for cats early , early morning or late in the evening tell dark and into the morning.
They are night feeders as a rule.
Bait : chicken liver , cut bait , Shrimp 🍤 and night crawlers and they also have catfish blood bait in a container or in a package.
Their are different way to set up.
You can Google it up.
And also you have to skin a catfish before you cook it you'll want to Google that all so.
Have fun and safe fishing 🎣

I love Cat Fish. The bigger cats feed late at night. I would start around 9 pm. I used night crawlers or small live bream until a friend and his brother were catching three times as many as I was. What was their bait? Hot dogs!
I started buying an 8 pack of hot dogs at $0.88 at WalMart. I break off about an inch piece and cast it out. Cheapest and most productive bait I’ve ever used I use a Carolina Rig and put a bell on my rod. I, in truth try other bait but I always have hot dogs.
I have found out the less expensive hot dogs work the best I was told they have more oil in them and small pieces of hotdogs work great for Pan fish also, give it a try
Good fishing and safe trip on the water

I agree with the hotdogs for channel cats. You can juice em up some with strawberry or cherry jello mixed in a ziplok bag. Check out the multiple YouTube videos for hotdogs and jello recipes,
Buddy told me to try boneless skinless chicken breast with cherry Kool-Aid I have yet to try it.
