Will be trying to fish Lake Chatuge in GA for the 1st time. Locals are recommending crickets as the bait of choice.
I have no idea how to hook or fish crickets. Would appreciate any advice.
They will catch fish don't squeeze them hook in the frt. Part of body.
Have fun!!

Catch them by placing bread crumbs under a sheet of newspaper with the 4 corners weighted down in a grassy area. Lift the corners slowly and grab them one at a time when they are exposed .
Or buy them at a pet store π
I use a small hook #8 or 10. Go through the rear of the cricket. Work the hook through body and come out through the tough tissue of the head. This keeps small bream from stealing the bait. Itβs excellent for pan fish and Iβve even caught an 11lb Cat Fish on a 4lb test line. Use a small float and cast close to the shore line. Tighten line quickly. You usually get a bite as soon as the float hits the water.
Never occurred to me to use glue. Great idea. Will use for grasshoppers. Thanks......
