A few days camping at Silver Lake, Calif. in the June Lake Loop, hard fishing cold and very high winds, some gusts 45 MPH. But had a good time caught some nice browns, here are three. Plus for those you who have never seen the East Side of the Sierra Escarpment here it is. I call it Indian snow, Apache here and Apache there.

Any chance Rod is with you? He is up at the loop all week fishen!

That was some tough wind ranger, but you caught some great fish. Did you happen to have any for dinner? I know I would’ve. πŸ˜‹

Love the loop
We use to camp their every sumer when I was a kid.
Caught my 1st trout on Gull lake. Still fish the loop to this day. It is definitely different than the western side of the serra.
Good fishing 🎣 to everyone

Been by there many times but never fish Crawley. Going back in Sept. to Silver Lake. Good luck at Melones tomorrow, I might try McClure for carp and catfish

If you fish Grant I have always done well with Roster Tails but when the the sun hits that lake the fish quite bitting. Early morning and evening.
We'll have to meet up some and go fishing.
Good luck your self tomorrow.

Sounds good, Grant Lake was real low for some reason. Silver Lake was full

That's the one problem with the East Side, nice and sunny and calm or gale force winds. Enjoy and hope you have good weather.

Ranger
Well went to New Melonies yesterday and took my buddies son.
Can't believe we caught 2big Catfish!! One was 10lbs and one was13lbs
We were fishing off the points catching bass using the underspin witha4inch shad bait white and one blue and gray colors. They wouldn't fit in the net!! But we finally neted them.
Couldn't believe it.
I'll send pictures when I get them from Brandon.
Also caught a 5lb Kentucky Spot.
Gave a good week end.
