As fishermen and women we all experience those times when we are either on the water or near it and the solitude of nature becomes so quiet we can hear it. We feel the breeze, smell the water and the grasses and trees, see the birds and insects and animals, and often we can feel it and experience so personally that we become a part of it. For many if not most of us it is why our pursuit is so restorative. We don't HAVE to do anything or be anywhere we can just Be. As I get older it is a state that carries over into the rest of my life and for me it is a good thing. It has been a hard lesson learned but well worth it.
