Need help with Chinook salmon

I want to go to lake oahe SD, and try to catch some salmon but I have no clue how and I don't have a boat . Any advice, appreciated .

Chinook are deeper swimming fish so you have to get down to were they are at. You could use some kind of jig like a Kastmaster or a lure or spoon. Look for videos on YouTube for lake Berryessa Ca. they catch them there on herring and other jigs. Good luck.

Good Mornin' Walleye man, welcome to the Forum.

Good luck with trying to catch a salmon this time of the year from the shore. They are deep now and you will need a 2 oz. bottom bouncer to get down there. I'm not sure if they come up into the feeder streams to spawn in the Fall or not. The only way you are going to catch a salmon this time of the year in Oahe is with a guide.
