Well guys, got out to the lake it was covered in whitecaps. Wind was a steady 15+ and gustin to 30 or 40 mph.
Had a dickens of a time tryin to hide from the wind. No matter where we went it would blow from a different direction.
Early on Steve caught a 5 pound LM. We were catchin a few here and there and then he hooked the big one.
Went on around the point and the wind was blowin over 20+ so we were at a really fast drift. I was havin a heck of a time with the trollin motor but I kept it to where Steve kept catchin fish down that whole shore line, I think I caught 1 to his 6 or 7.
Moved further down the shore and around another point and started to drift again. Not quite as bad. We both caught a few and kept a couple and released several more. Couple of nearly 3 pound SM released as well.
Finished that drift and the wind hit from another direction and had to relocate.
Looked around and couldn't find a place with NO wind so I picked a shore line I wanted to hit and tied to a tree so we could cast a little. Caught a few more and moved further down the shore to another tree to tie to.
Fished a little there and caught a couple more.
Wind died down for a few min so I untied from the tree and started to drift. Bout my second cast I hook what I thought was a snag until it started to move to deeper water.
Few min later we boat one that was bigger than the one Steve caught earlier.
Just then the wind returns so we just put her in the live well to deal with later.
Tie up to a few more trees and catch a few more fish. Couple more in the live well.
Get to the end of that drift so we decide to go back up to where we startet to do that drift again.
Tie up to the same tree and weigh and take pics of my fish. She was 6.4 pounds. My PB from Lake Sonoma.
My GD caught a 7pound LM at Sonoma when she was 7yo that I helped her with. She still reminds me too.
Anyway we kept fishin till bout 1:30 and they just seem to stop bitin.
Steve caught 1 crappie that was bout 3/4 of a pound which we kept also.
All in all we kept 4 LM and 1 crappie.
Lost count of the catch at about 30 to 35 but I'd say we had a 40 fish day anyway.
Not a bad day for the conditions we had.
When we got off the lake the wind was probly a steady 20+mph. 2+ foot whitecaps out on the main lake.
Glad we didn't try to go that way today. We went up the less windy side.
Tried to take a few pics to show how far down the lake is. Looong boat ramp now.

Sounds like a great day despite the Hellacious wind. Congratulations on the PB, that's always icing on the cake. Good job buddy.
Looking forward to the pictures.

Forgot to mention that both the big girls were spawned out. Had they been full of eggs or had their weight back on Steve's would have been 6+ pounds and mine would have been 8+ pounds. Still really good fish though.

HA! LOL! That would be the only way I could do that. I'm not very TECH savvy. Like y'all didn't already know that.

Me neither but I guarantee my 8 or 9 year old could have a channel up and running in 10 min. If I would allow it. Which I won’t! Tight lines.
