Can anybody put me on to places around SPI/Port Isabel to catch bait crabs?

I wish I could, Tony but they don't seem to be out when I am down there. Good luck finding them.

What's considered a bait crab there, small blue crabs or pass crabs?

I always catch up with a craber and buy a few. Most around here don't mind helping you out.

Hermits, sand fleas, and blues - I guess. Bait shops never have any of that here.

Here either, seems like all they carry nowadays is shrimp, shrimp, shrimp. Here on the new and full moon tides that are ripping if we catch a strong afternoon outgoing the pass crabs will flood out of the bay. Stand on the pier and dip all you want, excellent bait, everything will attack them, and they can be kept alive for a few days
