Hi my name is RJ. I live in Louisville KY. I fish in KY, MN, SD and FL. Primarily, I fish for bass, but in MN and SD we fish for Walleye, Northern, muskie, sunnies, etc. If anyone has fished in MN or SD can you tell me a favorite lake and how you fish it?

MN fishing

Mornin' RJ, welcome to the Forum.

I live in MN., and Winter in So. Padre Island, Tx. I mainly trout fish, but do fish the Miss. a lot. As well as the MN. side of Lake of the Woods, SD., ND. Lake Mich. and when we can get into Canada, Canada. The Miss. River is hard for a visitor to fish because it has so much structure, irregular shoreline and backwater. Canada is the best. Lake Mich. is very good at times, but it can puke. Lake of the Woods is as good as Lake Mich., but it too, can puke. Being from KY, I would do Lake Mich. (MHO) Good Luck. What are you doing with those slime dogs?

Welcome RJ, great pics. As Flyguy says, don’t discount Lake Michigan. It isn’t just trolling for salmon and trout. There are great walleye and smallmouth opportunities to be had on the Green Bay side. Lake Erie, too!
Good luck wherever you go!
