I started fishing at 5 years old and haven’t stopped (I’m 55 now). I grew up only trout fishing (with floating bait), but when I moved to AZ, I got into fly fishing with my wife. That led to bass fishing, which overly abundant in AZ. We just moved to Utah and, although there are tons of lakes, rivers, and streams, I almost feel lost in not knowing where to go. I'm hoping there may be others in this group who live in UT who can help me out.
I'm excited to be a part of this group and learn a lot more about bass fishing.
Welcome, not much help here, but there ought to be someone coming along with some good intel for you. Good luck!
Hi dhobbs, I'm in Idaho now, but I'm from Roy, Utah and still fish there a lot. I just got back from fishing Utah Lake for catfish, and Willard Bay for Walleye. We killed the walleye but the catfish at UL are way slow to start bitting this year. There are wipers, crappie, small mouth bass, perch and walleye and channel cats at Willard. And lots of good fly fishing on the Ogden and Weber Rivers for trout.
Utah Lake has good bass fishing. Large mouths and tons of White bass. Along with Walleye and great channel cats.
Fast_Randy,
Thanks for the good info. Where on Utah lake is good for bass fishing?
The Lg. Mouth in my picture is the only one I have ever caught. So I'm not much help with that. I love Utah Lake for the catfish. Sorry, I can't help. I do know the White Bass are easy to catch, and make great catfish bait.
